Book blogging is awesome, however you need to make sure you are doing it because you want to write book reviews and interview authors etc. and you aren’t just doing it for reasons such as free books.
The best thing to start off with is deciding how you want to share your content – usually either blog (WordPress is what I use) or youtube (Book bloggers on youtube call themselves ‘booktubers’) work out best for content sharing and are easy to get views on.
The next thing would be to start building up your following and post a few reviews, setting out a posting schedule as to when you will be posting and what you will post if you want to be that organised, before you start to contact publishers about reviewing cause they will fish out all social media and judge you on following. Make sure that when emailing publishers to mention all of your social media that you have ‘book blog related’ as publishers will see that as more of a potential helping promote their books.
After doing all this the next step is contacting people to review! This is usually the really cool and also nervous part of book blogging. Usually you can find publishers email on the ‘contact us’ section of their websites and be sure to use their emails for publicity or reviewing cause that will send you right through to someone that can get you sorted out with review copies. Make sure to include your social media’s on the emails and if you have read a book they have published before he sure to mention that too so they know you are a little familiar with their works they publish and what you are into reading! Also some publishers like it if you include a shipping address in there if they want to send you out a physical copy of a book.
I hope this post helped all you lovely people that would love to get into book blogging, the book blogging community is very kind and if you ever need any help feel free to contact us in need!
