THE SIDEKICKS BOOK REVIEW!!!

The Sidekicks by Will Kostakis Book Review!!

SYNOPSIS:

The Swimmer. The Rebel. The Nerd.

All Ryan, Harley and Miles had in common was Isaac. They lived different lives, had different interests and kept different secrets. But they shared the same best friend. They were sidekicks. And now that Isaac’s gone, what does that make them?

Will Kostakis, award-winning author of The First Third, perfectly depicts the pain and pleasure of this teenage world, piecing together three points of view with intricate splendour.

MY THOUGHTS:

This book looks like its going to be a tiny easy read, but it certainly was not that at all! This book was so well written and was so little and powerful I loved it so much!

The writing in this book was really what hooked me, Will has such an addicting writing style that really hooks you in and doesn’t let you stop reading AT ALL! (Literally though it had me hooked so bad I actually took it to school to keep reading it)

The characters in The Sidekicks were also very different, unique and very quirky and it is a real change to read something new and not having the same characters that you usually have in YA books. I also love that we got to listen to all the characters and have all their point of views instead of just having one, it was really interesting and you really got to see the characters from different angles.

Overall, this book was very powerful, fast paced and unique. Must read if you love something new and different to many other YA reads and if you love a good Australian set book in our lovely country!

STAR RATING: 5/5 STARS!!!
